Caleb Hampton is an award-winning journalist from California. He works as an assistant editor at the newspaper Ag Alert, where he covers California agriculture. Caleb’s work has appeared in The New York Times, the Guardian and other publications. In 2020, his exclusive coverage of the deportations of international students was cited in lawsuits that prompted a civil rights investigation at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He has won feature writing awards for stories about the failure of India’s public school system to educate rural students and about a soccer player. Caleb has a master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Graduate School of Journalism. He lives in Davis, California.
